Diagnosis delay time 2 seconds or more

  • Sonar control unit

  • Combination meter

FAIL-SAFE

CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

With CONSULT

  1. Turn ignition switch ON.

  2. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait for 30 seconds.

  3. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds or more.

  4. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “SONAR” using CONSULT.

  5. Check DTC.

Is DTC B274D-87 detected?

YES>>

Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULT OF COMBINATION METER

With CONSULT

Check “Self Diagnostic Result” of “METER/M&A” using CONSULT.

Is any DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform trouble diagnosis for detected DTC. Refer to the following.

  • Type A meter: DTC Index

  • Type B meter: DTC Index

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE AGAIN

With CONSULT

  1. Turn ignition switch ON.

  2. Erase DTC.

  3. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.

Is DTC B274D-87 detected again?

YES>>

Replace sonar control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

INSPECTION END
