Nissan Rogue (T33) 2021-Present Owner’s Manual & User Guide: Attention to the road
On ProPILOT Assist 2.1 equipped Nissan Rogue vehicles, the camera-based driver monitor system is used to check whether the driver is watching the road ahead. It is always the driver’s responsibility to stay attentive in order to avoid the following escalating alerts:
First Warning
- A beep sounds and a message appears to prompt the driver to look toward the road.
- The driver must look ahead to clear the message.
Second Warning
- The message changes and instructs the driver to hold the steering wheel.
- The message flashes and the beeping sound increases to draw the driver’s attention.
- The driver must place their hands back on the steering wheel or apply light steering torque to clear the warning.
Third Warning
- The vehicle applies two brief brake pulses to alert the driver that they have not responded.
- The driver must place their hands back on the steering wheel or apply light steering torque to clear the message.
Emergency Stop
- An emergency warning sound plays and a "Manually Steer" and/or "Slowing to Stop" warning message is displayed.
- The Nissan Rogue will gradually slow to a complete stop in the traveling lane and the hazard warning lights will automatically activate when the vehicle slows to approximately 40 MPH (65 km/h).
- After the vehicle comes to an emergency stop, it is connected to the Emergency Call (SOS) service operator, who can request assistance from public agencies (police, fire department, medical institutions). See "Emergency Call (SOS) button (if so equipped)" for more information on emergency support.
- After the emergency stop function activates, the Steering Assist function is disabled and a "Steering Assist OFF" message is displayed until the ignition is switched off and then on again.
- The driver must place their hands back on the steering wheel or apply light steering torque to cancel the emergency stop state.
