Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
Remove front drive shaft (right side) and support bearing bracket. Refer to Removal and Installation.
CAUTION:
Oil may leak from the opening. Use cap and/or plug to prevent leakage.
Remove exhaust front tube. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Remove catalyst support bracket. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Remove propeller shaft from transfer assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.
CAUTION:
The joint of propeller shaft must be handled with care.
Remove torque rod bracket of engine. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Disconnect transfer oil temperature sensor harness connector.
Remove the mounting bolts that fasten transfer assembly
and transaxle assembly.

Remove transfer assembly from transaxle assembly.
CAUTION:
-
Never damage ring gear shaft.
-
Be careful when removing transfer assembly from the Nissan Ariya vehicle because it is heavy.
INSTALLATION
Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.

When installing the transfer to the transaxle, install the mounting bolts following the standard below, tighten bolts to the specified torque. For each tightening torque, refer to Exploded View.

Apply anti-corrosion oil to the thread and seat of mounting bolts.

Never damage O-ring of transfer.

When oil leaks while removing/installing transfer assembly, check oil level after the installation. Refer to Inspection.
