Component Function Check
1.CHECK BRAKE WARNING LAMP FUNCTION
Check that brake warning lamp in combination meter turns ON for 1 second after ignition switch is turned ON.
CAUTION: Never start the engine. Is the inspection result normal? YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> Proceed to BRC-120, "Diagnosis Procedure".
2.CHECK BRAKE WARNING LAMP FUNCTION
Check that brake warning lamp turns ON/OFF when parking brake is operated.
NOTE: Brake warning lamp turns ON when parking brake is operated (when parking brake switch is ON). Is the inspection result normal? YES >> GO TO 3.
NO >> Check the parking brake switch system. Refer to BRC-115, "Diagnosis Procedure".
3.CHECK BRAKE WARNING LAMP FUNCTION
Check that brake warning lamp in combination meter turns ON/OFF when brake fluid level switch is operated while brake fluid level in reservoir tank is with the specified level.
NOTE: Brake warning lamp turns ON when brake fluid is less than the specified level (when brake fluid level switch is ON). Is the inspection result normal? YES >> Inspection End.
NO >> Check the brake fluid level switch system. Refer to BR-27, "Exploded View".
Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Perform the trouble diagnosis for ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) power supply and ground circuit.
Refer to BRC-120, "Diagnosis Procedure".
Is the inspection result normal? YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> Repair or replace error-detected parts.
2.PERFORM THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS
With CONSULT
CAUTION:
Is any DTC detected? YES >> Check the DTC. Refer to BRC-55, "DTC Index".
NO >> GO TO 3.
3.CHECK BRAKE WARNING LAMP SIGNAL
With CONSULT
CAUTION: Never start the engine. Is the inspection result normal? YES >> Replace the combination meter. Refer to MWI-82, "Removal and Installation".
NO >> Replace the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to BRC-136, "Removal and Installation".
