Nissan Rogue Service Manual: Engine stand setting

NOTE: Explained here is how to disassemble with engine stand supporting transaxle surface. When using a different type of engine stand, note difference in steps, etc.

  1.  Remove engine and transaxle assembly from vehicle, and separate transaxle from engine. Refer to EM- 81, "Exploded View".
  2.  Install engine to engine stand with the following procedure:
  1.  Remove drive plate.

Setting

  1. Remove pilot converter (1) from the rear end of the crankshaft.

    Use suitable tool (A), if necessary.

Setting

  1. Lift the engine with a hoist to install it onto widely used engine stand.

CAUTION:

NOTE: The figure shows an example of widely used engine stand (A) that can support mating surface of transaxle with drive plate removed.

CAUTION: Before removing the hanging chains, check the engine stand is stable and there is no risk of overturning.
